Pictures of Medusa

In many pictures of Medusa, this Gorgon is represented as a hideous creature with snakes instead of hair. Her eyes had such a terrible look, that anyone turned into stone. Not even gods dared look at her. She was killed by the hero Perseus.

Enjoy the images... even if "enjoy" might not be the right word.

Take a look at her sisters, the Gorgons, as you can see, beauty was something their family didn't lack.

There is also a story that says Medusa was a beautiful girl, but she boasted she had beautiful hair and goddess Athena punished her, transforming her into a monster. That's why there are also pictures of Medusa where she is represented as a beautiful girl.
