Greek God Atlas Pictures

One of the best known statues representing him is the one called Atlante Farnese (or Farnese Atlas), which has this name because it is in the Farnese collection of works of art. Recently, professor Bradley E. Schaefer from the Louisiana University discovered that the celestial sphere carried by the titan is an exact representation of a long lost star catalog, belonging to Hipparchus, a great astronomer of the antiquity.
